Moodle Considerations - NON DEV
Interface between PEMS and Moodle
Moodle Configuration
In order for PEMS to function as a cohesive system, Moodle courses and configurations must be aligned to the school architecture.
Terms - the length of a school term will influence the length of a Moodle Class, or rather how much work is contained in the class. A School with a term length of 18 weeks will required Moodle courses with 18 weeks worth of work.
Course ID - the SIS requires the Course ID to be related to the Class ID manages in the SIS. Changing Course ID will break integration between the SIS and Moodle

Configuration issues with Moodle
Weeks in a term
In the school Configuration, administration can decide the number of terms in a school year as well as the number of number of weeks in a term.
Out of the box, Moodle's courses all assume a school year with two 18-week semesters. Many of the classes are set up for 18 weeks of work. If the school does not follow this approach, then all the classes will need to be manually updated to reflect the length of term the school has chosen.
