### A Teacher's Authorization to Teach.

In the US, teachers obtain credentials that allow them to teach specific subject, or grade levels. The specif rules vary through all grade levels and across all the various States.

The authorization to teach a certain grade level a certain subject usually has a duration, there is a date where the teacher is no longer authorized to teach the class.

When a teacher is identified as the "teacher of record" or in other words, the student's official teacher, PEMS manages if the assigned teacher is correctly authorized and if that authorization is still valid and not expired.

# Authorizations

Authorizations allows a teacher to teach a subject area at a grade level for a duration of time. Authorizations can be comprised on multiple credentials.
