English courses mainly rely on open-source literature with audio files. Many courses have been created from Lit2Go resources. Students are highly encourages to listen to the audio while reading along. This method produces large gains in reading comprehension and vocabulary rather quickly.
A daily, or sometimes weekly, amount of reading is contained in a Moodle book activity, see books-versus-pages. Individual Lit2Go chapters are pages in the book. The student is expected to complete about an hour's worth or reading, as determined by the length of the audio files on a daily basis, so the Moodle books have about an hour's work of reading.
At the end of the daily reading, the student is asked to make a diary entry, summarizing the main ideas of the chapters that were read. There is one
