1. Check that the student grade_level has increased due to a promotion
1. Is the new grade_level greater than the last grade level?
2. If yes then the student has been promoted, continue with this function
3. If no, the grade_level has been changed for some reason other than advancement, do not run this function
2. If the student grade_level is greater than the end_grade of the plan that is associated to the student program record selected in the St udent current_program field, then the plan has been completed.
1. Set the status of the student program record selected in the Student current_program field to “completed”
2. Set the program_end_date of the student program record selected in the Student current_program field to the date the grade_level value was changed

• Note: a student might be promoted to the next grade level early, perhaps mid-term if they are exceptional students, so the date of the change is the date of the program completion.
